Casey 'Father Ounce' Burnett

Casey (AT '04) joined ULA in July 2008. He is going to be handling all aspects of Customer Service into the future...e-mails, phones, and orders. I met Casey at the ADZPCTKOP '08.

As I was helping another customer, he began to field questions about ULA products and offering his feedback....always prefaced with the fact that he did not work for me, but simply appreciated the products and wanted to help hikers be informed and comfortable.

I continued to be impressed with Casey throughout the ADZ weekend, so before he headed off northbound on the PCT (with a Circuit), I offered him a job. His enthusiasm for listening, genuine interest in helping people, and his quick absorption of the product line made this an easy decision for me. In addition, Casey is quick to laugh, full of energy, and has a good grasp on the gear, technique, and mental considerations of using lightweight equipment confidently.

Casey is originally from Northwest Ohio where his father introduced him to the outdoors.  He adolescence was filled with BSA camping trips, and his advancement towards an Eagle Scout Award.

In December 2003, Casey graduated from Capital University. With a degree in hand, what better time to go for a hike! The following Spring, Casey began and completed a successful thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail.

After two years of service work with the Jesuit Volunteer Corp in the Pacific Northwest, Casey began to prepare for some time on the Pacific Crest Trail in 2008. Leaving Campo, CA mid-April of this year Casey hiked ~1000+  miles along the PCT to Echo Lake.

In addition to his passion for long-distance hiking, Casey enjoys many flavors of the outdoors...rock climbing, cycle-touring and triathlons.

I am excited to incorporate Casey's skillset into ULA, and have every confidence that you will be to!
