The ULA x Kenn Walker Designs Cicada 0826 is what happens.

It all started with a shared appreciation for thoughtfully designed gear. Peter and Kenn Walker connected online, quickly discovering they spoke the same language when it came to backpacks, materials, and the tiny details that separate exceptional gear from all the rest.

Growing up in the world of skydiving, Kenn has spent a lifetime around equipment where failure isn’t an option. From repairing parachutes to flying airplanes, he’s developed an eye for gear that performs under pressure and a passion for refining it until every detail serves a purpose. As a one-person operation, every product that leaves Kenn Walker Designs is personally designed, tested, and handcrafted with an emphasis on functionality, durability, and a clean, purposeful aesthetic.

After geeking out over design philosophy, Peter sent Kenn a Cicada with one simple challenge:

The ULA x Kenn Walker Designs Cicada 0826 isn’t a ground-up redesign of the Cicada, nor was it meant to be. The goal was to take an already capable everyday pack and refine it through hundreds of small decisions that make a noticeable difference in daily use.

Kenn focused on adding thoughtful features, improving accessibility, and enhancing organization while preserving the simplicity and durability you already love.

The Result.

The result is a limited collaboration built for people who appreciate gear that’s as intentional as it is capable.

Every addition serves a purpose. Every material was selected intentionally. Every pocket, panel, and stitch was considered with accessibility, organization, and longevity in mind.

From premium full-grain leather accents and an all-black “blackout” exterior to a vibrant Electric Blue ULTRA interior that makes finding your gear effortless, this pack is built for those who appreciate craftsmanship and performance.

The Highlights.

Blackout Exterior: A stealthy all-black exterior pairs waterproof, sustainable cotton-faced Black X-Pac® X11, premium full-grain black leather accents, black hardware, and black trim for a clean, understated look that feels just as at home in the office as it does on the trail.

Dedicated Laptop Access: A padded laptop sleeve, accessible through its own exterior horizontal zipper, securely fits laptops up to 13 inches. No digging through the main compartment when you need your computer. Hipbelt loops were deliberately omitted to ensure unobstructed laptop access.

Refined Organization: A top quick-access pocket keeps your most-used items exactly where you need them. Inside the QAP, an ULTRA Stretch Mesh organizer is divided into three sections, making it easy to separate essentials like your phone, keys, earbuds, or wallet without everything settling into a pile. The large exterior front compartment has been reworked with two generously sized ULTRA Stretch Mesh organizer pockets, creating a more versatile storage layout than the standard Cicada.

The interior front panel features a stretch mesh upper pocket with an integrated key lanyard to keep valuables secure. The lower open mesh pocket features dual vertical zippers for faster, more intuitive access. A dedicated pen and stylus holder rounds out the front panel organization.

Travel-Ready Features: Whether you’re commuting or catching a flight, thoughtful additions make travel easier. A luggage pass-through secures the pack to rolling luggage, while a hidden passport pocket tucked behind the back panel keeps important documents protected but within easy reach. An AirTag holder has been designed into the interior back panel.

Carry More: Dual exterior ULTRA Stretch Mesh water bottle pockets give you flexible storage for bottles, tripods, jackets, or other gear. Daisy chains on the shoulder straps and integrated side carabeener attachment loops make it easy to clip on accessories. The rear interior panel features two hanging loops and black loop racer stripes, creating a customizable attachment area for hook-and-loop compatible accessories.
